Ray Johnson, host of the LitRPG Audiobook Podcast, has a full novel set in the VGO universe. I'm guessing it's based in the great short story he wrote for their anthology. Cover art looks amazing. No release date yet.

Aces High (Reality Benders Book #6): LitRPG Series
To be on a starship that’s just sustained serious damage in a space battle including losing its thrusters and find yourself in a totally different galaxy... You might think that would be cause for panic or, at the very least, despondency, right? Not at all! Gnat maintains optimism, gradually gets his space frigate back in working order and even finds upsides to what happened.
On top of that, there's never a dull moment – both in the virtual game and the real world Gnat finds himself at the very epicenter of the great space-faring races’ interests, though he does not understand why they’re paying him such close attention. And add to that the fact that humanity's Geckho suzerains are also in a tight spot and demanding all their vassals institute a military draft then send their assembled forces out to fight a distant space war.
Will Gnat be able to play his part in this complicated diplomatic party with the future of the entire human race at stake? Find out in Book Six of Reality Benders!
My Opinion: 437 pages, $6.99, Not Available On Kindle Unlimited
Full disclosure: I received and advanced copy for review. I purchased a copy of the novel when it became available.
This is an entertaining slice of life space adventure. There’s some plot advancement but a lot of smaller interesting mini adventures which setup that will advance in the next book. There’s some fighting, but not as much as the last couple books. There’s more politics and faction stuff, but again it’s setup for future conflicts. There’s plenty of skill and level advancement using the system that’s been established. Overall, it’s a fun story that’s setting up some really big battles in the next book.
Score: 7.5 out of 10
Aces High (Reality Benders Book #6): LitRPG Series
Four Beheadings and a Funeral: A LitRPG/GameLit Adventure (The Good Guys Book 9)
We join Montana, recently returned from an impromptu study abroad trip, a bit wiser, a bit broader in perspective, and a lot freaked out by the once-dead person who’s currently in his bedroom.
Possible zombie sightings aside, he’s finally ready to take his job as Duke seriously. And just in time too -- not only are the politics of the capital rapidly closing in on Montana’s little valley holding, but there are also goblins to negotiate with. Plus, that cult threatening to take the lives of his citizens. Montana will have to pull off the impossible - walk amongst the highest levels of Vuldranni society to influence world politics, and slaughter a few goblins in the process.
Four Beheadings and a Funeral is a wild romp of town-building LitRPG. Preorder it today!
My Opinion: 398 pages, $4.99, Available On Kindle Unlimited
It’s another entertaining slice of life story from the author. This one has quite the bite to it and turns a bit from the events of the far off settlement Montana established and back to the large city he’d been to previously. There’s some good action-adventure, RPG progression was solid though it changed a little as when the MC levels he doesn’t get stat points but abilities. It’s still a fun story though and it was also nice to see Yuri return to the story from the last book and he fits right in with the monster hunting.
Overall, a good read.
Score: 7.6 out of 10
Four Beheadings and a Funeral: A LitRPG/GameLit Adventure (The Good Guys Book 9)
Janus and The Prince: A LitRPG Saga (The Nightmares of Alamir Book 2)
Cowards mock men.
Idiots mock kings.
But to mock a god?
To stand at the precipice of paradise and damnation, and to open thy lips, and denounce the divine as an ignorant existence unworthy of their divinity –
None would dare.
None, except him.
For lip-service to a deity, he is reborn as a creature whose belly scrubs the earth. Reincarnating as a worm in the madness that is Alamir, the man who spat in the face of a god turns and spits in the face of destiny.
He ascends, from battle and bloodshed, to find favor in a Witch of the Night just as mad, if not far madder, than he. Baptized on the eve of the genocide of her people, he is bestowed the name
Janus – and is reborn with the power to explore the road not travelled.
The power to eat his cake and have it, to split the timeline as he desires, and pave his own path towards his chosen future.
That chosen future, awaits his bony, skeletal hands.
War cometh for the defiant. War between cosmic horrors and ubermensch, apocalypse seekers and twisted messiahs, reincarnated madmen and avatars of extinction –
And the man who defied a god, stands in the center.
“Hero, villain, monster, savior, king, slave, good or evil – all irrelevant when the Nightmares of Alamir come midnight, wielding a dim lantern, rasping with a croaky voice as their unholy fingers rap against your door.”
“Now, tell the world… How shall you answer?”
My Opinion: 373 pages, $4.99, Available On Kindle Unlimited
The OP ‘not quite a hero’ is back. It took about 8% of the story to recall the MCs powers and setup the story, but this time he has the task to kill some gods intent on destroying earth. He'll have to use his ability to split time to exploit his way to more XP, loot, and level up to have any shot at defeating such powerful enemies.
The slice of life story had lots of action, and plenty of interesting exploitation of the RPG system on the world the main character (MC) has been reincarnated to. There isn’t as much monster evolution as was in the 1st book, but there is an expansion of world building and some of those other narratives from the 1st book finally make a bit more sense.
Be warned there is plenty of cursing and adult jokes and references. And that the end is a bit of a cliff hanger but is meant to setup the next book. Overall, it was a fun read with an over powered MC.
Score: 7.4 out of 10
