Snapchat Glasses
Snapchat renamed itself Snap Inc, and released its first hardware product over the weekend. CEO Evan Spiegel unveiled Spectacles, a $129 pair of sunglasses with an embedded 115-degree lens. Users can record up to 10-seconds of rounded video, which is transferred via Bluetooth or Wi-fi to the Snapchat app. Spectacles will be available this fall in black, teal or coral on a limited basis. http://www.wsj.com/articles/snapchat-releases-first-hardware-product-spectacles-1474682719
Mars or Bust
Elon Musk announced plans to send a ship to Mars. Part of the plan involves launching the ship to orbit and separating the booster rocket which would return to Earth for refilling and reuse. The booster then relaunches and refuels the ship for its trip to Mars. The ship would also use solar energy as well. Flights are hoped to begin in 2023.

One Baby born - Three Parent
A five-month-old boy is the first baby to be born using a controversial new 'three-parent' technique.
That means this baby contains DNA from three parents - something which in this case allowed him to avoid having a deadly genetic condition passed down by his mother.
The technique - which was legalised in the UK last year - allows parents with rare genetic mutations to have healthy babies, by replacing a mother's faulty mitochondrial DNA with another woman's during the IVF process.
Seeing as mitochondrial DNA is only ever passed down by women, for most females with mitochondrial disease, this is the only way they'll be able to have healthy children.
But with a ban still in place in the US - one that experts are encouraging the government to overturn, we should add - the procedure is still controversial.

Adventure Time Ends
This The Cartoon Network network announced that Adventure Time—a free-wheeling cartoon starring boy-hero Finn and his ultra-flexible dog Jake—will conclude after its ninth season. Fortunately new episodes and specials will continue airing through 2018.

Warner Bros. has released a new full trailer for director David Yates' Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them. It features a ton of wonderful new footage showing off the wizarding world in the U.S. and even shows off a lot more magical creatures.
Lion King Remake
Jon Favreau's live action/CGI Jungle Book movie was a huge hit this year ($965,813,939 World Wide), and it looks like his next job is rebooting another Disney classic: The Lion King. The "reimagined" Lion King will include songs from the original animated movie, and is expected to be filmed in a similarly realistic style to The Jungle Book—although presumably without any human characters.
