Gold tatoos control computer

Microsoft Research and researchers at MIT's Media Lab have made gold-leaf temporary tattoos that can act as a user interface for mobile devices through an NFC chip. DuoSkin uses the gold leaf design that resembles jewelry to detect touch and communicate with an Arduino hidden in a sleeve. The team has demonstrated touch input, display output and wireless communication.

Intel’s Wireless VR helmet

Intel announced an all-in-one VR headset along with the Intel Merged Reality platform at the Intel Developers Forum Tuesday. Project Alloy is wireless with cameras, sensors and input controls built in. It promises six degrees of freedom, meaning you can move in any direction you wish. Uber tests Self Driving Taxis

Bloomberg reports that later this month, Uber plans to allow customers to ride in self-driving cars in Pittsburgh. The rides will be free and assigned at random. However, human drivers will still be at the wheel. The cars will be modified Volvo XC90 SUVs. Uber also agreed to buy Otto in July, a driverless truck startup founded by Anthony Levandowski who spearheaded the creation of Google's self-driving car and Lior Ron, former head of Google Maps. Levandowski is now leading the company's self-driving technology project.

Guardians of the Galaxy in Infinity Wars movie

This week during a Facebook Live broadcast, actor Vin Diesel confirmed that the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy would appear in the movie Avengers: Infinity Wars. He didn’t give anymore details, likely because the the script for the movie isn’t even finished, but we look forward to seeing Starlord try to charm his way into Blackwidows tights.

Zendaya’s Spider-Man Role

Since she was first cast in next year’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, fans have wondered just who Disney Channel actress Zendaya is going to play. Although initial reports had her labeled as a new character from Peter Parker’s high school named Michelle, the folks at the Wrap have revealed that she’s actually playing Mary Jane Watson instead.

Bleach - Live Action Movie

Just as the manga is ending, there is apparently a live-action Bleach film in the works.

The news was revealed via leak from next week’s upcoming Weekly Shonen Jump (via 2ch).

Bleach creator Tite Kubo is quoted as saying he, as the original creator, will assist with the production as much as he can so that the movie is not only enjoyable for new fans but satisfy long-time ones, too.

Runaway TV series

Hulu is getting into the Marvel business with an order to produce the Runaways, a drama series based on the fan-favorite Marvel Comics books. It comes from Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz & Stephanie Savage, Marvel Television and ABC Signature. The order is for a pilot plus additional scripts with an eye toward a full-season greenlight.

Created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona, the Runaways comics feature a group of teenagers who discover that their parents are part of an evil crime organization.

The Cast of Batman '66 Returns for a New Animated Movie

It’s been over a year since Adam West revealed that he and Burt Ward would reprise their roles as Batman and Robin for a new animated feature—but now we have the first look at it in action.

This week the trailer for the animated movie was released, featuring the vocal talents of Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar. Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders will be available digitally on October 11th, and on Blu-Ray November 1st.

3 New Harry Potter Books

J.K. Rowling said recently that she was done writing Harry Potter stories. Turns out she was just kidding. In a few months a new set of books will be released called Pottermore Presents.

Pottermore Presents is a series of bite-sized eBooks that dig deep into the Harry Potter stories, with titbits taken from Pottermore’s archives and original writing from J.K. Rowling. The series offers Harry Potter fans added insights into the stories, settings and characters and were all lovingly curated by Pottermore.

Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide, Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Politics and Pesky Poltergeists, Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, and Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies will be released on Sept. 6th.

Final Fantasy XV delayed till November

Fantasy XV has been delayed to November 29, 2016 worldwide, confirming rumors that emerged over the weekend.

According to Square Enix, the new date “will allow the development teams time to further polish and conduct quality testing so that the reality of the game can match the expectations of both the fans and the creative teams.”

In a statement, Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata said the team hopes “to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series" and that they need “a little bit more time to deliver on this vision and are confident that this new release date will help us achieve this.”

To help sooth the fans, Square Enix has released a new hour of gameplay footage of the game.

HARLEY QUINN AND DEADSHOT JOIN INJUSTICE 2 ROSTER

At Gamescon, it was announced by the team behind Injustice 2, the DC beat'em up, that both Harley Quinn and Deadshot would be playable characters in the game.

Konami’s new Metal Gear Game

Konami is making a new title called Metal Gear Survive. Taking place in an alternative universe, it’s a co-op survival game that’s set after Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. This is the first Metal Gear Solid console game that Konami has announced since series creator Hideo Kojima left.

Fallout 4 last DLC-Nuka World

Bethesda announced at Gamescon this week that their last DLC for Fallout 4 will be called Nuka World and allow players to become raiders and create Nuka Cola themed rides and attractions. The DLC will be released Aug. 30th.
