Firefighters in Dubai Tackle Flames Using Water-Propelled Jetpacks

(Play Video)

What happens when a fire breaks out on a busy bridge near the shoreline? You send a firefighter over on a jet ski and then strap him to a jetpack-like hose containing a pump that lifts him right over the flames to extinguish them, of course.

A water-powered system to achieve this was recently demonstrated by emergency responders in Dubai as part of a new initiative appropriately called Dolphin. The YouTube video posted by the city's emergency response unit, Dubai Civil Defence, describes the system in Arabic as a futuristic way to shorten the time to respond to fires aboard ships or on the shore.

In the latest version of Netflix's Android app, users can now download movies onto microSD cards. Previously the download feature was limited to internal storage. Content stored on the medium would still expire over time, and Netflix notes that support for microSD downloads varies by device.

This week Lucasfilm has announced the title of the next Star Wars movie. Episode VIII will be called, The Last Jedi.

Directed by Rian Johnson, the film is said to take up immediately after the final shot of J.J. Abrams’ The Force Awakens, when Daisy Ridley’s Rey was handing Luke Skywalker his old lightsaber. Skywalker, it would seem, is the last Jedi of the title, and while it’s not clear what the plot of the film is in any sense, the title alone could indicate the film will be largely centered around Mark Hamill’s character.

Dark Justice League extended clip

(Play Video)

The first 6 minutes of the new Dark Justice League movie was released this week and boy is it dark.

Justice League to reach out to turn to the supernaturally-inclined heroes like Deadman and Constantine. And it’s kinda messed up a lot. The curse makes people think they’re seeing vile demonic monsters everywhere, which leads to cheery moments like a woman plowing her car through a sea of pedestrians, a man in the grim aftermath of butchering his neighbors, and a woman throwing her own newborn off the side off a church. Cheery stuff!
