The Land of Diarrhea Online: A LitRPG Parody of GameLit

A Bunch of LitRPG Authors Get Trapped in an RPG!

Or are they in a real world with RPG mechanics? GameLit or LitRPG?

When some of the most famous writers in the LitRPG genre get trapped in an MMORPG at GryphonCon 2021, arguments are bound to happen. Can they remember all the tropes and avoid all the traps while learning to work together? Will they discover who is behind their imprisonment before it’s too late?

Take a peek inside to see if you might like to go along with me on this wild ride through the meta side of the genre we all love. This novel is for authors (with all my respect) and readers (with all my love). See how many Easter Eggs you can find! Sorry, no DeLorean prize…

Death's Mantle 2

There isn't much time left for Lucian North to save his brother.

Discovering a new way to grow exponentially stronger, Lucian forms an unsteady alliance with the angel Danira, one that he hopes could grow into something more.

Matters are complicated once Lucian is given a deadline by the Council of Death: produce his predecessor, who has mysteriously disappeared, or be tortured until he relinquishes his mantle.

Hunted by parasites, injuresouls, fallen angels, and now his own kind, Lucian must level up in a way he's never fathomed before, crafting everything from mechas to bone armor designed to withstand even the strongest attack. He must forge new alliances, realize the impermanence of the alliances he already has made, and even become a Death Hunter if he hopes to save his brother from certain doom.

But that's not all that's at stake.

As Lucian grows closer to his goal, he's blindsided by an attack that he never saw coming. He's also asked to do something that will reignite a war between the Progeny of Light and the Progeny of Darkness.

The decision Lucian makes will have grave consequences for his future, and that's before his final discovery, one that threatens the very existence of his family.

It's going to be an uphill battle from start to finish. And while Lucian is always up to the challenge, he may not be ready for the consequences.

Pearl of the South (World of the Changed Book #2): LitRPG Series

Earth was never the same after World of the Changed. Humanity was reduced to two camps: monsters thirsting to kill, and players doing everything they could to survive. The squabbles people had spent their time on before? Gone. If you wanted to live to see another sunrise, you had to work with everyone you could, from other players to game functions.

Mark Derwin, the most advanced player through the initial period of the game, knew all too well that his level was no advantage. Far from it—the game owner didn’t tolerate anyone who got too far ahead. The only thing the owner wanted was for Earthlings to disappear without a trace, giving up their resources to be extracted. But not everyone was willing to bend the knee before alien intelligence. In fact, some had begun to fight back against the game.

GAME WORLD: LitRPG GameLit Adventure

This is the most interesting LitRPG / GameLit story you will ever read.

Blood. Betrayal. Players. Levels. Artificial Intelligence. Death. Psychology.

Detective Malone enters Game World because his friend Diageo has been murdered. Now it’s humans against machines against artificial life. And now you’ve been given access. Can any player win? Can you win?

NOTE: This story contains LitRPG / GameLit elements such as statistics, leveling and some crafting. Furthermore, this story isn’t “light” or “simple” like some milquetoast romance. You must play to win.

CONTENT WARNING: This book contains references to human sacrifice, loss of humanity, machine supremacy, mental breakdown, artificial intelligence trauma, alcohol, Nordic music, mathematics, syringes, dental implants, megalomania, financial inequality, backdoor code hacking, sexualization of death, Canada and God Mode. You’ve been provided with fair warning.

READ AT YOUR OWN RISK: This book isn’t for children or even young adults. It includes adult language (strong profanity) and will likely offend those who are kind-hearted and gentle-of-spirit. Mature readers only.

My Opinion: 46 pages, $0.99, Available On Kindle Unlimited

This is a mess. There’s no real story as much as blocks of text that look like code notes, or a chat room transcription. There are some thrown in stat and skill increases in there, but they don’t have a reference and much like the rest of the super short text, just kinda exist. I regretted picking this up even as a KU read.

Score: 4 out of 10
