I work full time, write part time, and produce a podcast. However, my most important pleasure in life is spending time with my family. Here are some games our family plays together.
Limitless the TV show Pilot
We got an early look at the pilot for Limitless and boy are we excited. The show is based on the movie of the same name that came out in 2011 starring Bradley Cooper. The TV series revolves around Brian Finch, played by Jake McDorman, who gets his hands on the same pill Bradley Cooper did in the movie NZT-48 with similar results. Brian, a down on his luck musician, finds he can now instantly recall and connect all the things he’s ever read, seen, or heard. The show premieres on September 22nd on CBS. Read what we thought of the pilot.
We review Minions
The movie Minions tells the prequel story of the lovably quirky little yellow minions of Gru from the movies Despicable Me (2010) and Despicable Me (2013). Read our review of this minion filled film.
Jurassic World- The sequel you’ve been waiting for
Jurassic Park was one of the best films of 1990’s. Unfortunately, every sequel after (The Lost World, Jurassic Park III) tried and failed to re-create the magic of the original. This time, with Jurassic World, they got it right.
My Disney 60th Anniversary Experience
So let's talk Disneyland Diamond Celebration. The Disneyland theme park has been around for 60 years. Of course, Disney has to celebrate the momentous occasion in style with a special 24 hour kickoff event. I went with a group. We had a blast but were tired at the end of it all despite our planning. So here's a rundown of how the kickoff went and what to expect for the coming year celebrating 60 years of Disneyland.
Game Review: Invisible Inc.
Invisible Incorporated (Invisible, Inc.) is a turn-based tactical espionage game. Take control of Invisible's agents in the field and infiltrate the world's most dangerous corporations. Stealth, precision, and teamwork are essential in high-stakes, high-profit missions, where every move may cost an agent their life. Is this turn based game worth your money?
Review of Pitch Perfect 2
This is hands down the best feel good movie I’ve seen this year. The movie had me feeling aca-awesome and when the movie ended I immediately wanted to watch the film again with my best friend. The jokes, even the slightly offensive ones, from this movie will have you laughing so hard you'll cry! Even before leaving the theater you'll be going for your phone to download the soundtrack. Get your friends and watch this movie now.
Review of Mad Max: Fury Road
If you have never seen any of the Mad Max movies or are unfamiliar with the franchise, then Mad Max: Fury Road may leave you feeling confused. The person I saw the movie with summarized their review of the film in a single word, “What??” However, to be fair they walked into this movie having never watched Mad Max before. I give the movie the same review but for different reasons.
Ghost in the Shell, 20 Years later
Ghost in the Shell turns 20 this year. When the movie first came out it was critically acclaimed as a work of art by some and decried as too philosophical by others. How does the movie hold up 20 years later? What about the anime series adaptations? Read our review to find out what we think.
Review of Avengers: Age of Ultron
Okay folks, you've heard your friends talk about it, so it's time to hear my review of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Like a lot of the geeks, I too felt it was a good movie but not a great one.
Our Favorite Anime of All-Time
We’ve been asked repeatedly for our anime recommendations. So here is a list of some of our all-time favorite shows. We love anime and have watched hundreds of hours of it. There is a lot of anime we like so we had to trim down the numbers for this list of all-time favorites. To make the list the shows had to meet two conditions: 1) We’ve watched the full series (all seasons) at least three times, and 2) The show must be watchable online legally (there is one exception). We've included links to where you can watch the shows online.
Samsung Gear VR- Ready for mainstream?
The Samsung Gear VR innovator addition was released in December 2014. It turns the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, exclusively, into a virtual reality (vr) head mounted display. I have spent the last five months with the device and have shown it to over one hundred people. We review the hardware and some of the apps available for the device.
