Based on the novel of the same name. The series takes the magical school concept and introduces some very real, adult themes. The book series by Lev Grossman is very divisive. People either really loved it or really disliked it. We'll see how the TV adaptation goes when it premiers on SyFy.

CBS's released the trailer for their upcoming TV show Supergirl. The story summary "SUPERGIRL is an action-adventure drama based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist), Superman’s (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Twelve-year-old Kara escaped the doomed planet Krypton with her parents’ help at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex (Chyler Leigh), and learned to conceal the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret."
Koji Igarashi is best known for his work on the Castlevania games. He’s left Konami and is working on a new video game project funded in part on Kickstarter. The game is Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and is a 2.5D action game for consoles. Igarashi is going to enlist Inti Creates, the studio behind Mighty No. 9.

Harry Shearer, voice of such notable Simpson’s characters as Ned Flanders and Principal Skinner, has left the show after reported failed contract negotiations. The Simpsons, already the longest running show on television, recently got a two year contract extension. CNNMoney reports that no characters will be killed off, but the Simpsons will recast the voice of those characters previously voiced by Shearer
