Active in Germany since August 2015, Ohlala, the dating app that lets men pay women for a date, is now available in the U.S. Ohlala works by allowing male users to create profiles and fill out paid date requests, which include duration (30 minutes, an hour, etc.) and budget. The person must be looking for a date within four hours of placing the request. All active female users see the request, and they have 21 minutes to respond. It’s only after a woman chooses to respond that the requester can see their profile and chat with the woman to finalize the details of the date.
If this version of the app goes well, Ohlala has plans on making a version for women to pay men as well as a version for the gay community.
