I loved the first book. I really like the way various battles and conflicts went. They read like finely crafted clockwork mechanisms. Reading this book brings Bleach, The Realms books, and even The feedback loop to mind. I like some of the mechanics like the limited number of power slots, the somewhat simplified cultivation as a skill, and being able to buy stuff from the store on the fly. This was a great exciting read.
