Great world building and a wonderful MC. Great big battles. Fun with necromancy. A bit of a mystery with a twist. Thoroughly enjoyable reading. I'd be willing to call it light LitRPG since there's a fair number of system notices (usually when he's casting a prohibited spell), they have a magic level and ranking system. There were some signs of progression, they can do a type of identify, they can get info on cast spells.
