Book 5 in the series starts off with lots of talking. There’s less action in the beginning and more upkeep about how the main character (MC) is dealing with being a leader and the individual community needs versus his capacity to manage it all. More politics, alliance talking, maneuvering among factions. The MC is looking to free Canadian cities from aliens or make alliances against bigger galactic dominance. The big fights are scattered through the middle of the story with the really big ones at the end, much like other books in the series.
Overall, this is a fine book in an action focused series. It’s a bit slow towards the beginning with all the political maneuvering, but the large scale PvP like battles are good when it gets there.
