Guardians Of The Round Table 1: Dexterity Fail

Genre: Young Adult Fantasy LitRPG.

When all actions have repercussions, it isn't really a game.

Mallory's brother brings home the wrong game disc. His latest disaster doesn't surprise her one little bit. What does surprise her is being transported to a role-playing style world when they check out the plain black disc. When you're a noob in a world you don't understand, death is always imminent. They aren't sure if they want to leave Inadon, even if they can figure out a way to return home. But they do know they need to either get good or they're likely to learn what happens when a player runs out of revives.

My Opinion: 216 pg, $2.99, Not Available on Kindle Unlimited

This is a slice of life transported to the game world story. Four teens are sent to a fantasy RPG world and go on quests, improve their skills, and figure out the game rules of this world. There’s a long term goal of joining The Guardians of the Roundtable but most of the story revolves around the group doing quests in a starter village.

Game mechanic wise it’s a familiar system. Stats, class skills, crafting skills, character sheets. There are possibilities later in the system to multiclass that open up interesting possibilities for builds but in this one, everything is pretty standard.

Overall, it’s a good read that draws most of the fun from the banter between characters and the small budding romance between two of them. I will admit that I was kind of bored for the last 15% of the novel.
