Stranded with a Billionaire (Billionaire Boys Club Series)

By Jessica Clare

Billionaire Logan Hawkings needs a vacation. He's had a rough time after the death of his father and the betrayal of his fiancée. But with a visit to a recent business acquisition - a private island resort in the Bahamas - he has a chance to mend his broken heart. When a hurricane blows in, a misplaced passport and a stalled elevator bring Logan together with an unusual woman named Bronte. She's unlike anyone he's ever met - down to earth, incredibly sensual, and even quotes Plato. She also has no clue that he's rich...

Bronte Dawson, a waitress from the Midwest, is stranded with the hotel's domineering yet sexy manager Logan. What's the harm in a little fling when it's just the two of them, alone in paradise? But after several steamy island nights in Logan's arms, Bronte's ready to give her heart-and her body-to the man in charge. But she soon discovers there's more to Logan than he's told her...a billion times more. Now, Bronte's caught in a whirlwind affair with one of the world's most powerful men. But can their love endure their differences or will it all just blow over?

Romance level: Love

Sexy Time level: Hot

My Opinion:

As soon as I finished the story I had to go buy the next books in the series. I went through all 6 books within a couple of weeks they were so good. You will laugh, cry, and yell at the books. I found myself talking back to the books on multiple occasions when I didn’t like that “my” characters were going through the conflict portion of the book. Clare is amazing at making you feel for the characters and becoming emotionally invested in their romance. The best part is that all the books in this series link the characters together; so you get updates on the couple’s lives after the book ends.

The Billionaire and the Virgin (Billionaires and Bridesmaids)

By Jessica Clare

Waitress Marjorie Ivarsson is the picture of naiveté. Raised by her grandmother, she'd rather go to bingo than go dancing. But when she's asked to be a bridesmaid in her friend Bronte's destination wedding, she finds herself venturing into new and exciting territory. The wedding is set on the billionaire groom's private island, and Marjorie is fascinated by all the new people she meets. Most fascinating of all is the man she saves from almost drowning in the blue waters of the island lagoon. She might even have a bit of a crush on him. Unfortunately, she's not the only girl who finds him so intriguing.

Hotshot television producer Robert Cannon has a reputation for womanizing, drinking, and partying to excess. They couldn't be more wrong for each other... so why are they constantly drawn together like magnets?

My Opinion:

I loved this book so much as an audiobook that as soon as I finished the story I had to go buy the next books in the series. You will laugh, cry, and yell at the books. One for the Money (Stephanie Plum Series)

By Janet Evanovich

You’ve lost your job as a department store lingerie buyer, your car’s been repossessed, and most of your furniture and small appliances have been sold off to pay last month’s rent. Now the rent is due again. And you live in New Jersey. What do you do?

If you’re Stephanie Plum, you become a bounty hunter. But not just a nickel-and-dime bounty hunter; you go after the big money. That means a cop gone bad. And not just any cop. She goes after Joe Morelli, a disgraced former vice cop who is also the man who took Stephanie’s virginity at age 16 and then wrote details on a bathroom wall. With pride and rent money on the line, Plum plunges headlong into her first case, one that pits her against ruthless adversaries - people who’d rather kill than lose.

Romance level: Flirty

Sexy Time level: Mild, Later in the series: Medium

My Opinion:

This was a great start to the series. These books are full of kooky characters that you will love. Some stories are somewhat predictable. However, there is mystery, action, a love triangle, and lots of food consumed by Stephanie and Lula.

I have listened to the entire Stephanie Plum series by audiobook. Out of all the audiobook narrators, my favorite is Lorelei King. The first few books are narrated by Lori Petty, C.J. Critt and Debi Mazar respectively and they are fine. But Lorelei King really is the voice of Stephanie Plum for almost all of the series.

Moon Called (Mercy Thompson Series)

By Patricia Briggs

Mercy Thompson's life is not exactly normal. Her next-door neighbor is a werewolf. Her former boss is a gremlin. And she's fixing a VW bus for a vampire. But then, Mercy isn't exactly normal herself.

Romance level: Book 1-2: Flirty; Remain Series: Love

Sexy Time level: Medium

My Opinion:

I cannot get enough of this series and eagerly await each new book release. Patricia Briggs has a wonderful way of describing her characters and the world of Mercy Thompson. While there is always some kind of danger that Mercy must overcome, it's the friendships and later relationships that keep me coming back for more.

Cry Wolf (Alpha and Omega Series)

By Patricia Briggs

Anna never knew werewolves existed until the night she survived a violent attack...and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she'd learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. But Anna is that rarest kind of werewolf: an Omega. And one of the most powerful werewolves in the country will recognize her value as a pack member - and as his mate.

Romance level: Love

Sexy Time level: mild - medium

My Opinion:

There is a novella before the first book in the series, but you do not have to read the novella in order to understand this book. This book definitely has some sad parts because Anna was abused in her old pack and has some trust and self-esteem issues. There is a lot of suspense and we get to see Anna and Charles learn more about each other as they are mates and move in together. This is great for Charles because he was depressed at one point in the Mercy Thompson Series. There is quite a bit of shared characters between the two series.

Full House (Full Series)

By Janet Evanovich

Nick Kaharchek senses danger the minute he sees Billie Pearce. She represents everything he's always avoided. Happy in her home life, a divorced mother of two, Billie is the epitome of stability. She's also irresistibly fascinating to the footloose Kaharchek...in a car-crash sort of way. Their fateful meeting leads to a story filled with seduction and mayhem and, of course, love everlasting.

Romance level: Flirty

Sexy Time level: Mild

My Opinion:

I adore this series. It is both romantic and funny. This is not one of those series that makes the characters suffer before they can get together. It is lighthearted summer reading or listening at it's best. I have actually read and listened to this series multiple times.

My Soul to Take (Soul Screamers Series)

By Rachel Vincent

SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH KAYLEE CAVANAUGH

She doesn't see dead people, but...

She senses when someone near her is about to die. And when that happens, a force beyond her control compels her to scream bloody murder. Literally.

Kaylee just wants to enjoy having caught the attention of the hottest guy in school. But a normal date is hard to come by when Nash seems to know more about her need to scream than she does. And when classmates start dropping dead for no apparent reason, only Kaylee knows who'll be next.

Romance level: friend zone-flirty

Sexy Time level: Mild

My Opinion:

This book/ series is a great change of pace from regular paranormal books. Kaylee is a banshee and she has some issues due to being locked in a mental hospital in the past. The event that led to this hospitalization is what starts this book and really builds throughout the series. There is romance and understanding and later in the series there are new threats to deal with.

First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson Series)

By Darynda Jones

A smashing, award-winning debut novel that introduces Charley Davidson: part-time private investigator and full-time Grim Reaper. Charley sees dead people. That’s right, she sees dead people. And it’s her job to convince them to “go into the light”. But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e. murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice.

Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she’s been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all. In fact, he might be something else entirely.

Romance level: Flirty

Sexy Time level: Hot

My Opinion:

First Grave on the Right is like a crime show with a paranormal twist. And the side story throughout the books is figuring the truth about the entity. The great part about this book is that it doesn’t give the main character, Charley, a love interest right away. At some point in the series she does become involved with “someone” but she doesn’t automatically fall in love. There is plenty of steamy dream sex in the first book though.

The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires (Half Moon Hollow Series)

By Molly Harper

Iris Scanlon, Half-Moon Hollow’s only daytime vampire concierge, knows more about the undead than she’d like. Running their daylight errands—from letting in the plumber to picking up some chilled Faux Type O—gives her a look at the not-so-glamorous side of vamps. Her rules are strict; relationships are purely business, not friendship—and certainly not anything more. Then she finds her newest client, Cal, poisoned on his kitchen floor, and her quiet life turns upside down.

Cal—who would be devastatingly sexy, if Iris thought vampires were sexy—offers Iris a hefty fee for hiding him at her place. And even though he’s imperious, unfriendly, and doesn’t seem to understand the difference between “employee” and “servant,” she agrees. But as they search for who wants him permanently dead, Iris is breaking more and more of her own rules . . . particularly those about nudity. Could it be that what she really needs is some intrigue and romance—and her very own stray vampire?

Romance level: Love

Sexy Time level: Medium

My Opinion:

I absolutely love, love, love these books! Molly Harper has weaved together a delightful array of characters throughout the series (as well as the Jane Jameson Series). Each book in the series is about a different couple with all the other “side” characters around for fun updates and to build the world of Half Moon Hollow. In each book there is some kind of mystery to be solved from who was behind the poisoning, to finding family artifacts to stay in power, to who’s behind a witch’s “whammy.” These books are definitely more romance and not erotica, there are sex scenes but they are not explicit.

Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs (Jane Jameson Series)

By Molly Harper

Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed twenty-five dollars in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead. And thanks to the mysterious stranger she met while chugging neon-colored cocktails, she wakes up with a decidedly unladylike thirst for blood.

Jane is now the latest recipient of a gift basket from the Newly Undead Welcoming Committee, and her life-after-lifestyle is taking some getting used to. Her recently deceased favorite aunt is now her ghostly roommate. She has to fake breathing and endure daytime hours to avoid coming out of the coffin to her family. She's forced to forgo her favorite down-home Southern cooking for bags of O negative. Her relationship with her sexy, mercurial vampire sire keeps running hot and cold. And if all that wasn't enough, it looks like someone in Half Moon Hollow is trying to frame her for a series of vampire murders. What's a nice undead girl to do?

Romance level: Love

Sexy Time level: Medium

My Opinion

Molly Harper is one of my favorite authors. These books are hilarious! The entire set is about people trying to kill (permanently) or maim the main character, Jane. In addition you see her relationship with her vampire sire come to fruition. There are sex scenes (not explicit) in all the books. You will laugh throughout the books.

How to run naked with a werewolf (series)

By Molly Harper

Anna Moder has just witnessed a shooting, seen her car pulverized, and rescued a wounded stranger only to discover he’s really a werewolf. And by her recent standards, things are actually looking up. Lycanthropes don’t faze Anna. Doctoring a wolf pack outside Grundy, Alaska, is the closest thing to home life she’s known in years. But hitching a ride to Anchorage with long-absent pack member Caleb Graham—that’s a risk. Part of her itches to whack his nose with a newspaper. The rest is trying unsuccessfully to keep her own paws off every delicious inch of him.

The problem is—Caleb employs his lupine tracking abilities as a not quite- legal bounty hunter, and Anna is suspicious of both him and his profession. On the run from her past, with old problems closing in, she’d like to stay far, far away from anybody with connections to the law. Caleb, however, seems determined to keep her close. Are his intentions noble, or is he working a more predatory angle?

Anna’s been dreaming of returning to a semi-normal life, but now she’s experiencing a strange new urge . . . to join Caleb in running with the wolves.

Romance level: Love

Sexy Time level: Medium

My Opinion

These books are fun (like all Molly Harper’s books). They are a nice change of pace from her vampire based books. Of course they have fun romance like all her writing. There are sex scenes in all the books and they focus on different couples.

But the next thing Regina knows, her friends have got her laced into a shiny black corset, tight leather pants, and a sexy pair of stilettos. It's time for some downtown vampire-fantasy fun. . . .

The Vampire Ball in Manhattan's East Village isn't really Dmitri Vidâme's idea of a good time, but as a member of the Council that governs the Others, he has to keep an eye on all the young vamps who prey on the pretenders. After he feasts his dark eyes on fiery Regina at the bar, he knows that he must have her. But for the first time Dmitri meets a woman who is more than a match for his indomitable will. And he may be the fantasy Regina hoped for… until she—and her feisty friends—discover her sexy new lover's bloodsucking secret…

Romance level: Soul Mates

Sexy Time level: Hot

My Opinion

I will be honest, I love the first two books the most. These are the ones I will go back to over and over again. The others are also good but they do not call to me as much. I think it’s because I struggle with really getting into the third book and I like reading them in order. So if the Faerie thing isn’t really your thing you can skip those and read only the shifters/ vampire ones. Each book is a standalone about a different couple. There are characters that appear in each book as supporting characters but you do not have to know there story to follow along. There are a lot of hot steamy sex in these books.

Feral sins

By Suzanne Wright

When female wolf shifter Taryn Warner first encounters Trey Coleman, an alpha male wolf shifter with a dangerous reputation, she’s determined to resist his charms. After all, Trey—who was only fourteen when he defeated his own father in a duel, winning the right to be alpha of his pack—can’t have anything to offer the talented healer besides trouble, or so she thinks. Taryn finds herself drawn in by Trey’s forceful demeanor and arctic-blue eyes, and she eventually agrees to enter an uneasy alliance with him. If the two succeed in convincing their respective packs that they’ve chosen each other as mates, Trey will win valuable political allies, while Taryn will escape an odious arranged mating.

But there are a lot of potential pitfalls to this plan—including the very real possibility that the wolf shifters, overwhelmed by their growing attraction to each other, will be unable to maintain the clear heads needed to pull off the deception.

Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake series)

By Laurell K Hamilton

When St. Louis’s most powerful vampire comes to Anita Blake for help, she is faced with her greatest fear, a man capable of arousing in her a hunger strong enough to match his own.

Romance level: Flirty- Love

Sexy Time level: Book 1-3: mild; Books 4-24: Hot - Panty melting

My Opinion

Okay so these books crack me up; Anita starts off the series as a prude no sex with vampires/werewolves and by book 4/5 she is having sex with everyone. Each book has some kind of mystery to be solved it is not just about her hunting vampires. There is good plot development in most of the books but some are more relationship/ sex based.

Dead Witch Walking (Rachel Morgan series)

By Kim Harrison

All the creatures of the night gather in "the Hollows" of Cincinnati, to hide, to prowl, to party . . . and to feed.

Vampires rule the darkness in a predator-eat-predator world rife with dangers beyond imagining—and it's Rachel Morgan's job to keep that world civilized.

A bounty hunter and witch with serious sex appeal and an attitude, she'll bring 'em back alive, dead . . . or undead.

Romance level: Flirty

Sexy Time level: Medium

My Opinion:

These books are good. They are similar in style to Laurell K Hamilton. I binged on the first 6 books at which ends with a major character death. There was a big time gap between me reading book 6 and book 7 being released. Too much time had passed and I struggled with jumping back into the story without being confused about the characters. I later jumped back in at book 12 when I heard the series was ending to catch back up with the characters before the final book to get closure on this world of characters. There is definitely romance and side characters for comedic relief. I was really impressed with the last two books. I was not lost having skipped some books for a while and was able to enjoy the relationships and saving the world in the end.

Romance level: Love

Sexy Time level: Mild

My Opinion:

I truly enjoyed this trilogy. I have read it as paperbacks. I’ve also purchased it for my kindle, and eventually listened to the audiobooks. Nora Roberts is a master of the genre. She always weaves a masterful tale in which the characters have to overcome some conflict to find true love. In the case of this series, the ghost of Harper House.

Love in a Nutshell

By Janet Evanovich and Dorien Kelly

Kate Appleton needs a job. Her husband has left her, she's been fired as a magazine editor, and she's got nothing left but the Nutshell-her parents' summer house in Keene's Harbor, Michigan. Kate hopes to turn the Nutshell into a bed-and-breakfast. Problem is, she needs cash, and the only job she can find involves beer and espionage.

Matt Culhane wants Kate to spy on his brewery employees. Someone has been sabotaging his company, and if Kate finds the culprit, Matt will pay her a $20,000 bonus. Unfortunately, Kate despises beer, her co-workers don't trust her-and she's falling hard for her boss. Can these two smoke out a saboteur, save Kate's B&B, and keep a killer from closing in...all while resisting their undeniable attraction to one another?

Romance level: Flirty

Sexy Time level: Mild

My Opinion:

This book is hilarious. Hilarious. I found myself laughing out loud many times and getting weird looks from strangers. The main character, Kate, wants to build something for herself but is out of money. She ends up working “undercover” for the hunky Matt Culhane to find out who is sabotaging his business. There are plenty of funny misunderstandings and conflicts to overcome before everyone finds love.

Shiftr: Swipe Left for Love Series

By Ariana Hawkes

What if your fated mate was just an app swipe away?

Curvy Dina Taylor hates the idea of online dating. It's something kids do, not 36-year old women, whose boyfriends have left them for the office intern. But her best friend Lauren has a secret she's bursting to share: there are men out there who absolutely love voluptuous girls like her. All Dina has to do is tap Shiftr, the cute little paw-print app that Lauren has just installed on her phone.

In the time it takes Dina to get over her shock that there are guys who can shift into animals, she's hit up by Logan - a dark-eyed bear-guy with a torso like sculpted marble and eyes like pools of lust. He tells her that he feels a magnetic connection to her, but before she can tell him that the feeling's mutual, her clumsy thumb swipes the wrong way, and he's gone.

Dina is distraught, but Tamika, the creator of Shiftr has a cunning plan that may just bring them together again. Will Dina find the sexy Logan in the midst of the eccentric matchmaker's beautiful, opulent summer garden party? And will they discover that they're fated to be together?

Romance level: Flirty

Sexy Time level: Hot

My Opinion:

All the books are about sexy shifter men finding their human mate by using a secret dating app. The women are all curvy and can only tell one other person after they have met their mate. These books are pretty short except for book 6 (Adaira) which is a full novel and has a little more “conflict”/ miscommunication.

These books are funny, yet predictable. There is not a lot of hot steamy sex due to the short nature of the books but there is at least one sex scene in each book. The last book is about a triad “threesome.”

This entire series is all on kindle unlimited. So if you like the first book it is worth it to purchase kindle unlimited for the month (or get the free trial) as it will be cheaper in the long run. I finished all the books within a week or two.

A Girl’s Guide to (Man) Hunting

By Jessica Clare

Once, Miranda felt a little exposed…

Miranda Hill’s cocky ex-boyfriend is back in Bluebonnet, Texas. He ditched her—and their little town—just as some rather shocking photos showed up on the Internet. Miranda wasn’t so lucky. Stuck in Bluebonnet and left to fend for herself, she’s never really shaken the scandal—or his betrayal. After nine long years, he’s back…

It’s time she gets even.

Former NHL hotshot Dane Croft has returned home to open a survival training school and reinvent himself. When his high-school girlfriend enrolls in the program, he has no idea that Miranda plans to get him in a compromising position. But to carry out her deviously sexy revenge, Miranda will have to get up-close and personal with Dane all over again. She got nowhere being a good girl; it’s time to be a little naughty. But falling in love with the man who broke her heart was never part of the plan…

Romance level: Flirty

Sexy Time level: Panty melting!

My Opinion:

This book starts with Miranda planning her revenge on Dane for a perceived slight of posting topless photos of her. During the wilderness survival trip she is unable to get him in a compromising position since she is not allowed to take her camera. Instead she decides to still come on to him for sex, and enjoy the week sneaking around in the middle of the night for hot steamy sex in the woods. They continue their relationship after the week is over until she finds out he lied. It is at this point that she finally puts into action her revenge plan to get even by getting him in a compromising position, with handcuffs! Needless to say there is a lot of miscommunication between the two, which will make your heart break. Eventually, he makes a grand gesture and they do get their happily ever after. Which will make you scream Yay! At the end.
