We begin with…

Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy VII Remake update

Via Gematsu, the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu featured an interview with Tetsuya Nomura, the director of Final Fantasy VII Remake and Kingdom Hearts III. While he hinted that one or both of them may be given a progress spotlight at a press event later this year, he also indicated that both titles are far from finished.

“We’re steadily progressing on production,” he said. “While we are making them, I apologize that the wait will be be a bit longer for Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy VII Remake. I am very sorry, but to that degree I will make a game that will meet your expectations…The release of the titles themselves have still have a way to go.”

Nintendo has provided some new details on its next mobile game, a smartphone take on the long-running strategy series Fire Emblem. The game — dubbed Fire Emblem: Heroes — is described as a tactical role playing game. According to Nintendo, the game will feature a brand new story about two warring kingdoms, and it features the same anime fantasy style as the rest of the series along with characters pulled from past games. The free-to-play game will be out  available February 2nd on iOS and Android.

Black Adam Standalone movie

DC’s proposed Shazam movie doesn’t have a director, star, or even a finished script. What it does have is a villain, Black Adam, played by Dwayne Johnson, and he’s getting his own movie.

Deadline reports, and io9 confirmed, that the idea for Shazam has now been split in two. First, Johnson will play Black Adam in a solo movie. Then there would be a Shazam movie, without Black Adam—and then, maybe, a third having the two face off.

Also, Dwayne Johnson has tweeted that Black Adam could make an appearance in AQUAMAN. http://bit.ly/2iPcDez

Marvel’s other Spider-Man, the one that isn’t Peter Parker—is finally swinging his way onto the big screen. Sony Pictures Animation confirmed today that Miles Morales will be the web-slinger at the heart of the studio’s upcoming Spider-Man animated movie. The as-yet-untitled Spider-Man animated movie is scheduled to hit theaters December 21, 2018.

Peter Dinklage in Infinity Wars

Peter Dinklage was recently spotted leaving a NYC salon sporting a very red hairdo. Many have speculated that this in preparation for his role in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR.

If the new very red 'do is in prep for that movie, who do you think Dinklage is playing? It narrows it down to possibly Pip the Troll or Eitri the Asgardian weapons forger.

Ramon: My personal theory is that he’ll be playing Modoc.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that the show, being produced by Sony Pictures Television for NBC, will be written by Caroline Dries, who will executive produce the show alongside her fellow Vampire Diaries producer and writer, Brian Young, and the co-creator of the original comic series.

Like the initial incarnation of the comic, the show will follow cop Sara Pezzini as she comes into contact with the mysterious Witchblade amulet, a sentient bracelet passed down through female hosts with tremendous supernatural power... which she then proceeds to use to help her solve crime. So it’ll be a procedural with supernatural elements, basically.

He’ll be back! James Cameron, who regains certain rights to his prized creation The Terminator in 2019, is godfathering a new iteration of the film that might finally get it right in drawing a close in the battle between humans and Skynet. Sources say that Cameron, whose copyright reversion happens 35 years after the release of the 1984 classic, is in early talks with Deadpool director and Tim Miller to direct a reboot and conclusion of one of cinema’s great science fiction tales.
